Lahore: Africa Day is being observed globally today, marking the annual commemoration of the Organization of African Unity’s foundation on May 25, 1963. This year’s theme, “Revisiting Our History, Shaping Our Future,” underscores a reflection on the continent’s past while looking forward to future developments.

Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, extended greetings and best wishes to the governments, parliaments, and peoples of Africa on this occasion. In his message, Sadiq highlighted the enduring ties between Pakistan and African nations, emphasizing mutual respect, shared values, and cooperation in multilateral forums.

Africa Day serves as a reminder of the historic foundation laid in 1963, which continues to influence contemporary partnerships and collaborations across the globe.
