Afghan Refugees Continue Daily Repatriation; Deadline Set for End of October

Islamabad, 16 Oct 2023: The ongoing repatriation process for Afghan refugees back to their homeland remains in full swing, with hundreds returning daily. As per recent figures, yesterday alone saw 3,127 Afghans making the journey back home. This includes 387 men, 233 women, and 1,055 children who crossed via the Torkham border.

A statement from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MOIB) detailed that the government has stipulated a deadline: all illegal Afghan residents must exit the country by the 31st of October. The ministry also noted that the voluntary return of Afghans is a praiseworthy endeavour, one which will foster beneficial outcomes for both nations.
