Islamabad, March 16, 2023 (PPI-OT): The fourth meeting of the Parliamentary Advisory Committee regarding the organization of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the Constitution was held at the Parliament House on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Senator Mian Raza Rabbani.
The progress made so far regarding the grand celebration was reviewed. In the committee meeting, it was decided that the Golden Jubilee celebration of the Constitution will be started from 23 March 2023. The Parliamentary Advisory Committee on media for Golden Jubilee Celebrations The strategy was also approved. The committee also reviewed the design of commemorative stamps and coins.
The meeting proposed the construction of a constitutional monument, the State Bank Building, Islamabad, by restoring its old National Assembly Hall to its original condition and declaring it as a national asset. The committee detailed the progress regarding declaration competitions in educational institutions across the country along with the special messages of PTA.
Reviewed. Ms. Maryam Aurangzeb, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting while detailing the media strategy to cover the commemoration said that all the departments of the Ministry including PTV, Radio Pakistan, DEMP, PID, EP Wing, PEMRA has planned activities related to the celebrations.
He informed that they will broadcast some special programs, documentaries, podcasts, exhibitions, quiz competitions, article publications, news supplements etc. in connection with the Golden Jubilee celebrations and all the activities will be carried out on print, electronic and digital media in private and public sectors. Besides, special coverage will be given on regional channels.
The convener of the committee Senator Mian Raza Rabbani and other members of the committee appreciated the effective and comprehensive strategy of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and emphasized the need to make it more comprehensive over time.
Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar informed the committee that Special attention is being paid to the matters related to the restoration of the old assembly hall in the old building of the State Bank of Pakistan and it is hoped that this work will be completed in a few months. The committee proposed to declare the said hall as a national heritage.
He also presented sample designs of commemorative coins to the committee, one of which was approved by the committee.
