Advisor to Chief Minister in Peshawar Rejects Purchase of New Official Vehicle

Peshawar, Mashal Azam Yousafzai, newly appointed Advisor to the Chief Minister on Social Welfare and Special Education, declined a proposal for the purchase of new official vehicles, including one for her own use, emphasizing fiscal prudence.

According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Yousafzai responded to a summary from her department, which highlighted the lack of a vehicle for the Secretary of Social Welfare and Special Education, by firmly rejecting the suggestion to procure a new car. She noted that if there was a genuine need for a vehicle, it should have been addressed by the caretaker government prior to her tenure.

Yousafzai’s decision sends a clear message regarding the necessity of curbing unnecessary government expenditures, even in the face of departmental requests. She returned the case, instructing that no new car be purchased under her advisement, reinforcing her commitment to cost-effective governance.
