Islamabad: In a key meeting today, Mir Ali Hassan Zehri, Advisor to the Chief Minister of Balochistan on Commerce and Industry, sat down with Senator Rubina Khalid, Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), to deliberate on expanding support for BISP beneficiaries in Balochistan, particularly women. They focused on increasing inclusivity in BISP’s programs, registering more eligible families, and enhancing skill development initiatives.
According to Press Information Department, during the meeting, Chairperson Senator Rubina Khalid shared updates on new directives from the President of Pakistan, specifically targeting women in Balochistan with a PMT score of up to 60 for inclusion in BISP’s Kafalat and other welfare programs. They also addressed several challenges that women beneficiaries face in the province and discussed potential solutions aimed at improving their economic and social well-being.
The meeting also highlighted the integration of Mobile Registration Vans to help register more women into the BISP, ensuring broader accessibility and inclusivity. Both leaders emphasized the importance of skill development programs that empower BISP beneficiaries and youth to start their own businesses and secure financial independence.
Mir Ali Hassan Zehri praised the impactful efforts of the BISP under Senator Khalid’s leadership and reiterated his full support to strengthen and expand BISP’s initiatives, aiming to foster a more inclusive and empowered community in Balochistan.
