Karachi, The Advisor to the Chief Minister on Fisheries Livestock and Human Settlement, visited the Korangi Fish Harbour in Karachi to assess its operations and address pertinent issues facing the fishing community.
According to Chief Minister Sindh, during his visit, Alam chaired a meeting at the harbor where he received a comprehensive briefing from senior officials regarding existing challenges and potential solutions. He expressed satisfaction with the briefing and reiterated his commitment to enhancing the development of the Korangi Fish Harbour.
Alam highlighted the significant increase in fishing activity at the Karachi Fish Harbour, which was originally designed for 500 boats but now accommodates 5000. To alleviate the strain on the harbor, discussions with the federal government have been initiated. Alam disclosed that he recently met with CM Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah to expedite the resolution of pertinent issues.
Addressing the concerns of fishermen and harbor management, Alam pledged to promptly address all obstacles encountered. He announced plans for a project aimed at modernizing facilities for fishermen, emphasizing the need for better practices across all aspects of fishing to boost marine production and employment opportunities.
