Adityanath’s ‘repeat of a Partition-like catastrophe’ remarks betray ‘All is not well’ in India

Lucknow, October 09, 2023 (PPI-OT): Glorifying the demolition of centuries old Babri Masjid and construction of Ram Temple in the name of reclaiming the birthplace of Ram, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has boasted to reclaim Sindhu (Indus), which comprises Sindh province of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, today.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Adityanath, addressing a convention of the so-called Sindhi community in Lucknow, said, “If Shri Ram Janmabhoomi can be taken back after 500 years, Sindhu (Indus) can also be brought back.” The two-day Sindhi Convention organised by Sindhi Council of India.

In what signifying growing alienation among the Sindhi community in the BJP-ruled India particularly in the UP, Yogi Adityanath described the community as an integral part of Sanatan Dharma. The part of his speech in which he asked the Sindhi community to “take the pledge of nation first to prevent a repeat of a Partition-like catastrophe” clearly testifies that ‘all is not well’ with the community in present-day India.

“Everyone should be prepared to give a befitting reply to anyone who plays with the unity and integrity of the nation,” he further said in a tacit warning to the Sindh community. Political experts believe that Adityanath’s assertions that “Sindhi community is an integral part of Sanatan Dharma of India” imply that there are growing anti-India feelings among the community because of divisive policies of the BJP regime.
