ADB Reiterates Support for Pakistan’s Economic Reforms

Islamabad: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Pakistan’s economic reform efforts, a stance expressed during a meeting between ADB President Masatsugu Asakawa and Pakistan’s Minister for Economic Affairs, Ahad Cheema.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, President Asakawa praised the Pakistani government’s comprehensive reforms which are showing signs of positive economic recovery. The meeting covered various initiatives including tax reforms, energy sustainability, and social protection enhancements, with ADB confirming ongoing support in areas such as Public Private Partnership, climate resilience, and sectoral reforms. The event also marked the groundbreaking of ADB’s new office building in Islamabad, symbolizing a deepening of ties between the institution and Pakistan.
