ADB lauds Pakistan’s improved macroeconomic conditions

Islamabad: Pakistan has been praised by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for its improved macroeconomic conditions, which have sparked a noticeable rise in growth during the fiscal year 2025. This positive trend is attributed to the nation’s enhanced investment levels, a result of ongoing policy reforms and a stable economic environment.

The ADB’s report, released today, highlights Pakistan’s projected growth trajectory, forecasting a real GDP growth of three percent in the upcoming fiscal year. This anticipated growth is expected to be supported by deepening macroeconomic stability, achieved through persistent reforms aimed at tackling structural weaknesses within the economy.

These economic reforms have shown significant progress under the International Monetary Fund’s Extended Fund Facility, which was initiated in October 2024. The ADB’s acknowledgment comes as a testament to Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to fortify its economic framework and address longstanding vulnerabilities, setting a positive outlook for the country’s economic future.
