Islamabad: A delegation from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) met with Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, to discuss initiatives aimed at enhancing macro-fiscal management and governance. The meeting was led by ADB’s Senior Director, Tariq H. Niazi, and included the Bank’s Country Director for Pakistan, Emma Fan.
According to Press Information Department, the ADB delegation briefed the minister on the bank’s ongoing and planned projects in Pakistan, emphasizing economic reforms and socio-economic development. The projects focus on policy and administration reforms, digitalization of the Federal Board of Revenue, public-private partnerships, addressing climate change, and providing financial and budgetary support. The ADB also plans to offer technical assistance in pension reforms and support poverty reduction efforts. Senator Aurangzeb recognized the alignment of ADB’s priority areas with Pakistan’s development needs and appreciated the bank’s support in building climate resilience and advancing government and pension reforms.
