Acting President, PM, and Armed Forces Celebrate 26th Youm-e-Takbeer Anniversary

Islamabad, The acting President, Prime Minister, and military leadership of Pakistan have extended their congratulations to the nation on the 26th anniversary of Youm-e-Takbeer, a day marking the country’s demonstration of nuclear capabilities. In separate statements, they emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to peace and stability, both regionally and globally, and reiterated the importance of the day in the national consciousness.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, acting President Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani, in his official message, highlighted the significance of Youm-e-Takbeer as a reflection of Pakistan’s resilience and determination. He noted that the day commemorates Pakistan’s entry into the group of nuclear-armed states, underscoring a commitment to maintaining regional peace and resolving conflicts peacefully. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in a social media post, praised the collective efforts that contributed to the country’s defense capabilities, recalling the promises made by the nation to uphold its sovereignty without yielding to external pressures.

The Prime Minister also paid homage to former leaders Nawaz Sharif and Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, as well as the scientists responsible for advancing Pakistan’s nuclear program. Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and other services chiefs, through a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), commended the dedication and sacrifices of all those involved in achieving this national milestone against formidable challenges. They affirmed the armed forces’ dedication to defending the nation’s sovereignty and ensuring security at any cost.
