Islamabad: Pakistan marked the 147th birth anniversary of national poet Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal with tributes from Acting President Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, recognizing Iqbal’s profound impact on the nation’s formation and ideological foundations.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Acting President Gillani highlighted how Iqbal’s work united the Muslims of the Subcontinent, motivating them to strive for a separate nation. His emphasis on Islamic values and the cultural revival resonates with the youth, guiding their efforts to uphold and advance Pakistan’s values and identity.
Prime Minister Sharif reiterated the significance of Iqbal’s teachings in igniting the pursuit of a separate homeland for Muslims in the subcontinent, ultimately leading to the creation of Pakistan. His message to the youth emphasized rising above mediocrity through faith and hard work, reflecting Iqbal’s ideals of justice, equality, and excellence in building the nation.
