Islamabad: The Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Dr Jemal Beker Abdula, made a farewell visit to Acting President Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani at Aiwan-e-Sadr today, highlighting the ambassador’s significant role in reinforcing the diplomatic ties between Ethiopia and Pakistan.
Acting President Gilani commended Dr Jemal Beker Abdula for his pivotal efforts in enhancing the political, economic, and cultural connections between the two friendly nations. He acknowledged the ambassador’s contributions to the Green Pakistan Initiative and his proactive stance on climate change issues. Furthermore, Mr. Gilani expressed optimism for the continued strengthening of Pakistan–Ethiopia relations and extended invitations for Ethiopian parliamentary leaders to attend an upcoming conference in Islamabad.
Dr Jemal Beker Abdula reciprocated the praise, acknowledging Mr. Gilani’s leadership in fostering ties with African countries, including Ethiopia.
