Islamabad: Acting President Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani addressed a seminar organized by the Pakistan-China Economic and Cultural Council to commemorate the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC). The event gathered senior Pakistani political leaders, diplomats, and representatives of the Chinese Embassy to discuss the implications of Xi Jinping’s ‘Thought on Party Building’ and the collaborative relationship between Pakistan and China.

According to Senate of Pakistan, Mr. Gilani emphasized China’s development under the CPC’s leadership, citing the importance of strong institutions and governance. He highlighted the CPC’s role in China’s economic transformation and poverty alleviation, noting its contributions to global development.

Mr. Gilani discussed the principles of Xi Jinping’s ‘Thought on Party Building,’ focusing on self-reform, accountability, and anti-corruption. He suggested these principles provide valuable insights for political entities in the Global South. He also spoke about the enduring Pakistan-China partnership, describing it as an Iron Brotherhood rooted in mutual trust and strategic cooperation.

He acknowledged the expansion of Pakistan-China cooperation in various sectors, including defense and trade, and highlighted the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor’s role in regional development. Mr. Gilani expressed gratitude for China’s support during crises and identified areas for further collaboration.

The seminar included speeches from key figures such as Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi and Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong, along with presentations on the CPC’s history and development.
