Islamabad, December 06, 2022 (PPI-OT):Convener SDGs Ms Romina Khurshid Alam has said that both Sri Lanka and Pakistan share same challenges like climate induced emergencies, poverty and other socio-economic challenges. She said that achieving SDGs win-win for both countries. Convener National Parliamentary Taskforce on SDGs Ms. Romina Khurshid Alam expressed these views in a meeting with Sri Lankan delegation led by Sri Lanka State Minister of Finance Mr. Priyanatha at Parliament House.
Sri Lanka State Minister of Finance Mr. Priyanatha at Parliament House expressed solidarity with people of Pakistan who have been facing devastating impacts of recent floods in Pakistan. He said that mutual cooperation and unanimous approach essential to transform regional socio-economic challenges into opportunities.
Convener SDGs Ms Romina Khursheed Alan also sought cooperation of Sri Lankan for student exchange Programme and Enhancing business to business contacts between both countries. She also pointed out that the health sector in Pakistan can learn a lot from success stories of Sri Lankan Health sector especially in the area of training the world’s best Mid wives. The meeting was attended by MNA MS. Zahra Wadood and Senior officers of Parliamentary Task Force on SDGs. Later on, Sri Lankan delegation also visited National Assembly Hall.
