ACE Punjab Arrested Main Accused in Illegal Transfer of Church’s Property 

Lahore, February 14, 2022 (PPI-OT):The main accused, in the case of illegally acquiring land owned by Lahore Dyson Church in Karachi through fake gift deed, has been arrested. DG Anti-Corruption Establishment Punjab (ACE) Gohar Nafees while giving details regarding the arrest said that the accused persons Waheed Ahmad in connivance with Zafar Iqbal prepared fake gift deed of 2.42 acres of land at Fatima Jinnah Road Karachi that is owned by Lahore Dyson Church.

Zafar Iqbal fraudulently stamped Waheed Ahmed’s thumb impression on the gift deed to deceive the investigation agency and transferred the same in his own name. In 2019, Zafar Iqbal made the lease agreement of the said land with Afzal Qaim Khani.

During investigation ACE Punjab found the thumb impression of Waheed Ahmad on fake gift deed instead of Zafar Iqbal. ACE Lahore arrested Waheed Ahmed, the main accused in the case, from Lahore. Waheed Ahmed is a stamp paper Vendor in Lahore against whom investigations are underway in other cases regarding preparation of forged documents.

Case No. 02/2022 has been registered against the accused persons in Anti-Corruption Lahore Police Station. Regarding the arrest of Patwari Mohammad Tufail for issuing fake Fard in Kasur, DG Anti-Corruption said that accused Mohammad Tufail issued Fard of 16 Marlas of land to Shaukat Ali through forgery who later on sold the land. Patwari Muhammad Tufail has been arrested after registering case No. 01/2022 in Anti-Corruption Kasur Police Station while efforts are underway to arrest Shaukat Ali.
