Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Visit to Pakistan Seeks to Bolster Economic Ties


Islamabad: His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, met with Pakistan’s Prime Minister during his inaugural official visit to the country. This visit marks a significant step in strengthening the historic relations between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates.



According to a statement by Press Information Department, the Crown Prince was warmly received by the Prime Minister, who emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing its longstanding ties with the UAE. The visit included both one-on-one discussions and delegation-level talks.



The Prime Minister highlighted a recent discussion about the Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan Railway Line project, noting Uzbekistan’s keen interest. He expressed optimism that the project would benefit ports in Gwadar and Abu Dhabi, potentially transforming regional economic interactions.



The Prime Minister acknowledged the UAE’s ongoing support for Pakistan during challenging times and appreciated Abu Dhabi’s interest in expanding its investment in the country. He cited recent successful investment ventures involving Abu Dhabi Ports as examples of their growing economic partnership.



Sheikh Khaled, accompanied by senior officials and business leaders, reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to supporting Pakistan’s economic development. The visit also saw the signing of multiple Memorandums of Understanding and agreements in various sectors, including banking, mining, infrastructure development, and railways, witnessed by both leaders.
