AAC commemorates martyrs of Badr, 56th death anniversary of Maulana Yusuf Shah

Srinagar, April 08, 2023 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Awami Action Committee organised a prayer session at the historic Central Jama Masjid, Srinagar on the occasion of the 56th passing away anniversary of Muhajir-e-Millat Mirwaiz Maulana Muhammad Yusuf Shah. The AAC Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq could not participate due to his continued illegal house detention. The event was presided over by the renowned religious scholar Maulana Shaukat Hussain Keing and participated by many scholars, Naat Khwaans, and intellectuals, including Maulana Khursheed Ahmed Qanungo, Engineer Muhammad Afaaq Chishti, Mir Shabir Ahmed, Molvi Ghulam Nabi and Maulana M S Rehman Shams.

The ceremony commemorated the great sacrifices of the martyrs of Badr and the sincere sacrifices of the expounder of the Mufassir-e-Qur’an Mirwaiz Moulana Yusuf Shah, and paid rich tribute to them. On the occasion, the participants expressed deep regret and concern over the nearly four-year-long illegal detention of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and demanded his immediate release in view of the holy month of Ramadan.

The latest edition of the popular general commentary “Bayan-ul-Furqan” by the late Mirwaiz Yusuf Shah, which was published in two volumes in standard style by Ali Muhammad and Sons, was also released.
