Lahore, August 22, 2023 (PPI-OT): Inspector General Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, chaired a video link conference of Victim Support Officers of Tahaffuz Centers at the Central Police Office, Victim Support Officers, in-charges, and focal persons participated from all districts, including Lahore. Senior officers, including DIG IT Ahsan Younas and AIG Admin Amara Athar, were also present in the meeting.
In the meeting, the performance of Victim Support Officers posted in Police Tahaffuz Centers was reviewed, and administrative and professional issues were discussed in detail, including the advice and uniforms of Victim Support Officers. Proposals to post victim support officers at police service counters in hospitals were considered in the meeting.
IG Punjab directed that no effort should be spared in providing legal and social protection to women and children who are victims of exploitation and violence, ensuring effective coordination with relevant institutions for the treatment of people suffering from mental illness and addiction.
