Islamabad, May 24, 2022 (PPI-OT):A special meeting was held at CDA Headquarters on Monday under the chairmanship of the Chairman CDA regarding the fire in Margalla Hills area. Officers of relevant departments including Chairman Wildlife Management Board, DC Islamabad, Member Environment, Member Engineering, DG Environment, Director Environment (Regional), Director Emergency and Disaster Management, Director MPO were also present on the occasion.
The Chairman Capital Development Authority also reviewed in detail the current situation in the Margalla Hills area and the fire management plan. On this occasion, he issued instructions to the officers of the concerned departments and said that an operation should be started on an emergency basis for effective prevention of fire.
In addition, briefing the Chairman CDA on behalf of the officers of the concerned departments, it was informed that in view of the fire season, the number of staff has been increased to 100 more who will join the existing staff. So that any emergency can be dealt with in a timely manner.
During the briefing, he was further informed that the additional personnel have been deployed in the areas of Monal, Bhara Kahu, De Tuillo and lohe Dandy to further improve the response to fire. Similarly, instructions were also issued by the Chairman CDA to the concerned departments to increase patrolling in the said areas including deployment of additional staff at the check posts.
He Chairman Capital Development Authority issued a special directive to the DG Environment to provide protective clothing to the fire-fighters and to take all precautionary measures to ensure their safety. There is no fear of loss of life.
In addition, the Chairman Capital Development Authority, while addressing the participants of the meeting, said that since it is very difficult to put out fires in forests and mountains and it is almost impossible for humans to reach most of the places, NDM It has also been decided in principle to seek air support from A.
On this occasion, the CDA management said that mountains and forests are the beauty of Islamabad and their protection is one of the top priorities of the organization and all possible steps will be taken to maintain this beauty.
