Islamabad, March 28, 2022 (PPI-OT):A police patrolling party came under heavy gunfire by the armed dacoits at Marwa town, in the limits of Police Station (PS) Koral, informed a police spokesman. However, police officials remained unhurt and a dacoit was arrested with weapon in injured condition he said. The injured dacoit identified as Aman Ullah was arrested on the spot; he said adding that the other accomplice of him managed to escape.
According to him, a police party was busy in routine checking at Marwa Town when the police officials signalled two suspicious persons riding on a motorcycle for checking. He said the motorcycle’ riders opened indiscriminate firing on cops.
Since the cops were adopting fully protective measures, no one was injured, the spokesman said. During cross firing a dacoit was injured. The other dacoit fled from the scene. The injured dacoit was moved to hospital for medical treatment amid tight security, he said. Soon after occurrence of incident, a heavy contingent of police rushed to the scene and cordoned off the area.
Police spokesman further said that Aman Ullah is an active member of a notorious dacoit gang that is operating in area of PS Koral and surroundings. “He was also wanted in three cases of dacoity and possessing illegal arms,” he said. He said a case has been registered against Aman Ullah and other gang members with PS Koral while further investigation was on.
Meanwhile, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Muhammad Ahsan Younas appreciated the bravery and sharp respond of police team adding that Islamabad police is fully prepared to protect the lives and property of citizens. “The cops of capital police will render any kind of sacrifice for the safety and security of people,” he said adding that police are carrying raids to arrest the fleeing dacoits.
