A delegation of famous artists of the country met with Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tesori

Karachi, In a significant meeting at the Governor’s House, Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tesori hosted a delegation of prominent Pakistani artists, emphasizing the pivotal role of artists in society and discussing various societal issues.

According to Sindh Governor House, the meeting saw the attendance of notable artists including Adnan Siddiqui, Mahmood Aslam, Hina Dilzeer, Faisal Qureshi, and Ayesha Umar, among others. Governor Tesori acknowledged the critical function of artists in spotlighting societal flaws through their work, underscoring the importance of art in social critique and transformation. He also expressed admiration for the talent of Pakistani artists, positioning them at par with international standards.

During the meeting, Governor Tesori shared insights from his recent visit to a neighboring country, noting the contrast in societal development and public welfare. He observed that despite certain restrictions, the neighboring country has managed to provide basic facilities to its poor and maintain prosperity. In contrast, Tesori pointed out the challenges faced by Pakistan, including sectarianism, nationalism, and religious hatred, which have diverted the country from a unified direction.

The Governor highlighted the concerning rise in criminal activities in Karachi, labeling it a city increasingly associated with crime and directionless growth. He stressed the necessity of establishing a primary education commission, similar to the Higher Education Commission (HEC), to address educational challenges and improve the quality of primary education in the country.

Additionally, Tesori informed the delegation of the various public welfare initiatives undertaken by the Governor’s House. These initiatives include opening the doors of the Governor’s House to the public, distributing rations to over 200,000 people, and maintaining a 24-hour staff presence at the “Bell of Hope” to address public complaints. The delegation also toured the Quaid Room marquee, ration bag distribution areas, and IT classes, providing them with a comprehensive view of the ongoing welfare projects.
