Karachi, March 22, 2023 (PPI-OT): A 22-member delegation of All Pakistan Newspaper Society met Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tesori at Governor House. In the meeting, President Naz Afrin Sehgal Lakhani and General Secretary Syed Sarmad Ali briefed Governor Sindh about the problems of the newspaper industry.

In the meeting, the problems faced by the newspaper industry, the decrease in the number of readers, the increasing popularity of other means of communication and other issues of mutual interest were discussed. And the importance of newspapers remains in place, but social and digital media have influenced the circulation of newspapers.

He further said that people still turn to newspapers for authentic news. He said that it is important to include content that attracts readers in newspapers, in this context, newspapers should also pay attention to their e-editions because this is the age of innovation. Governor Sindh assured the delegation that the newspaper industry I will talk to the relevant institutions about the problems faced.

He said to take care of his workers too, because inflation has broken their back. He said that newspapers and magazines have an important role in drawing attention to the problems. Governor Sandhu said that because of you, the government helps to solve the problems in time, without determining the direction, they cannot reach the destination.
