New Delhi, July 10, 2022 (PPI-OT):Delhi Police have registered an FIR against 82 officers and employees of Rohini Jail for taking a bribe of about Rs 1.5 crore every month from Sukesh Chandrashekhar, an alleged thug also known as Balaji.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Sukesh was giving money to the officials in the name of providing separate barracks and other facilities including the use of mobile phones in the jail. An FIR has been registered in this case on June 15.
It is noteworthy that Sukesh Chandrashekhar, accused of duping some rich people including Aditi Singh, wife of former Fortis Healthcare promoter Shivinder Mohan Singh, is lodged in Rohini’s Jail No. 10, Ward No. 3, Barrack No. 204. Meanwhile, seven jail officials were arrested for helping in some way or the other.
Earlier, Sukesh Chandrashekhar had committed a fraud of Rs 200 crore in Delhi’s Tihar Jail. Sukesh became an officer of the Ministry of Home Affairs and came out of jail. He changed his voice and trapped the people. Sukesh used a mobile phone to pay bribes of lakhs to the jail officials. Several jail officials were arrested after the investigation.
Recently, Sukesh Chandrashekhar was caught flouting the security arrangements of the jail. Sukesh has been caught on CCTV camera texting outside the jail. The accused was sending letters to the nursing staff of Tihar Jail. Jail officials say that Sukesh used to carry his message from here to there. The Tihar Jail administration has written a letter to the Delhi Police demanding action against the nursing staff accused in the case.
During the scrutiny of the CCTV recordings, the officials saw Sukesh talking to a contract nursing staff at the jail hospital and handing him a letter. It is said that the letter was to be handed over by an acquaintance of Sukesh to an outside nursing staff. When asked by the nursing staff, she could not give a satisfactory answer.
At present, Tihar officials have contacted Delhi Police for investigation. Now the police are investigating the whole matter. Sukesh Chandrashekhar is lodged in Tihar Jail. Sometimes on hunger strike and sometimes by playing with the security system, he keeps harassing the officials of Tihar.
