76th Independence Day of Gilgit-Baltistan Commemorated

GILGIT, Today, the 76th Independence Day of Gilgit-Baltistan is being celebrated with traditional enthusiasm and spirit.

According to Kashmir Media Service, various activities have been arranged by political, social, and literary groups to appropriately commemorate this historic occasion.

Each year on the 1st of November, the Independence Day of Gilgit-Baltistan is observed in remembrance of the Gilgit Scouts who, in 1947, freed their region from the Dogra Raj and apprehended the Dogra Governor Ghansara Singh. A vibrant event is scheduled at the helipad ground in Jutial Gilgit in connection with the Independence Day festivities.
