Srinagar: Authorities in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir have invoked the Public Safety Act (PSA) against at least 75 Kashmiris following the Pahalgam incident on April 22. The operation, described as a false flag, has led to widespread arrests and property demolitions across the region.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Indian forces have arrested over 2,500 individuals and demolished nearly 36 homes as part of ongoing search operations since the incident. These actions have been concentrated in several districts, including Bandipora, Kupwara, and Baramulla, among others.
Inspector General of Police (Kashmir Zone), VK Birdi, confirmed the use of PSA against 75 of those arrested. The law has faced criticism from international human rights organizations for allowing detentions without trial.
Beyond arrests, the operations have reportedly included looting and intense interrogation of residents. The situation remains tense as searches and raids continue in multiple districts across the region.
