7 killed, several missing as cloud burst hits Kishtwar

Jammu, July 28, 2021 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, at least, six persons have died while 19 others are missing after a cloud burst in Kishtwar district, officials said. Reports said that the cloud burst hit Honjar Dacchan, sweeping away six houses and a ration depot.

As soon as getting news, the civil administration, Indian police, army, National Disaster Response Force and locals launched a rescue operation, they said. SSP Kishtwar Shafqat Bhat told media that seven bodies have been recovered while a number of people, with reports coming in suggesting the number to be around 19-20, are missing. He said efforts are on to trace the missing persons.

Official said the missing persons are feared dead. More details are awaited. Meanwhile, two cloudbursts damaged a hydro power project and some houses in Kargil district. However, there were no reports of casualties or injuries till this news was filed.
