60 Million Pakistanis Cast Votes in Recent Elections

Islamabad, Approximately 60 million voters across Pakistan participated in the polls on February 8, marking a significant moment in the country’s democratic process. This turnout reflects the citizens’ commitment to electing their representatives, amidst a comprehensive setup ensured by election and security officials.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN) released a preliminary report highlighting the mobilization of over 1.1 million election officials who performed duties across the nation. Furthermore, more than 0.7 million police and military personnel were deployed to safeguard the peace and maintain order, standing guard both within and outside polling stations.

FAFEN commended the Election Commission of Pakistan for facilitating a smooth process for observer accreditation, contributing to the transparency and efficiency of the election proceedings. This acknowledgment underscores the significant efforts made to uphold the integrity and fairness of the electoral process, allowing a vast number of Pakistanis to exercise their right to vote without undue hindrance.
