4 CRPF soldiers killed, 13 injured in fratricide firing in Chhattisgarh, India 

New Delhi, November 08, 2021 (PPI-OT):At least four Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were killed and 13 others were injured after one of their colleagues opened fire on them in Sukma district, Chhattisgarh, in India.

In a case of fratricide, the soldier, identified as Reetesh Ranjan, opened fire on fellow soldiers at around 3.45 am in the camp of the CRPF 50th battalion in Linganpalli village under Maraiguda police station of the area of the district, located nearly 400 kilometers from the state capital Raipur. As per official statement, the soldier fired at his colleagues with his service weapon, an AK-47 rifle.

Inspector General of Police (Bastar range) Sundarraj P said that seven personnel were seriously injured in the incident and were immediately rushed to Bhadrachalam area hospital for treatment. Four of them succumbed to their injuries. Those killed were identified as constables Rajmani Kumar Yadav, Rajib Mondal, Dhanji and Dharmendra Kumar. Two injured CRPF personnel were airlifted to Raipur for treatment.
