373 new cases of corona detected, no death reported 

Karachi, February 21, 2022 (PPI-OT):Fortunately, no death stemming from Coronavirus reported on Monday, however 373 new cases emerged when 8,936 tests were conducted. This was stated by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in a statement issued here from CM House on Monday. Mr Shah said that fortunately no death was reported on Monday. He added that till last Tuesday the number death and was 8,030. Mr. Shah said that 8,936 samples were tested which detected 373 cases that constituted 4.2 percent current detection rate.

He added that so far 7,850,333 tests have been conducted against which 561,750 cases were diagnosed, of them 90.6 percent or 509,290 patients have recovered, including 411 overnight. The CM said that currently 44,430 patients were under treatment, of them 44,220 were in home isolation, 15 at isolation centres and 208 at different hospitals. He added that the condition of 189 patients was stated to be critical, including 14 shifted to ventilators.

According to the statement, out of 373 new cases, 104 have been detected from Karachi, including 39 from South, 36 East, 12 Korangi, 8 West, 6 Malir and 3 Central. Hyderabad has 91, Tharparkar 29, Jamshoro and Matiari 26 each, Tando Muhammad Khan 18, Mirpurkhas 14, Ghotki and Tando Allahyar 11 each, Shikarpur 10, Khairpur, Badin and Sukkur six each, Jacobabad and Umerkot four each, Dadu and Larkana three each and Thatta one.

Vaccination: Sharing vaccination data the CM said that 46,047,150 vaccinations have been administered upto February 19th, and added during the last 24 hours 286,679 vaccines were inoculated – in total 46,333,829 vaccines have administered which constituted 85.59 percent of the vaccine eligible population. The chief minister urged people of the province to follow SOPs.
