Kolkata, October 11, 2022 (PPI-OT):The police in Indian state of West Bengal arrested over 35 people in connection with clashes between Hindus and Muslims in Mominpur area of the state capital Kolkata. A large contingent of police has been deployed to avert further clashes in the area. Sources claimed that the clashes erupted over installation of Eid Milad UN Nabi flags that were torn down by Hindus in the area. Several people were injured in the ensuing clashes while a number of vehicles of vandalized in the area. Indian media also claimed that many policemen suffered injuries including Deputy Commissioner of Police Soumya Roy.
