Karachi, May 06, 2023 (PPI-OT): Administrator Karachi Dr. Syed Saifur Rahman has said that sports connect people of colour, race, culture, civilization and different sects without discrimination and keep them mentally and physically healthy, therefore everyone should participate in some sport and live a healthy life.
The 34th National Games held in Quetta is a symbol of peace. He said this while addressing the departure ceremony of the 34th national sports torch from Karachi to Peshawar at Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology.
On this occasion, Vice Chancellor of Sir Syed University Dr Waliuddin, Registrar Sir Syed University Syed Sarfaraz Ali, Olympian Hanif Khan, Director Sports Higher Education Commission Javed Ali Memon, Ahmed Ali Rajput, Muhammad Jahangir, Khalid Rahmani and other personalities were also present. Administrator Karachi said KMC recently successfully organized the Karachi Games 2023 in Karachi which lasted for ten days and 42 sports competitions were organized in these games in which more than 5000 players and athletes participated.
Pakistan’s name is known all over the world in terms of sports, Pakistan has won the cricket series between Pakistan and New Zealand held in Karachi and has become the first in the world ranking, which is very encouraging. He said that Pakistan has a prominent position in the world in cricket, hockey, squash, badminton and snooker.
Sports are the cause of introduction of nations to each other, Administrator Karachi said that all possible steps are being taken to promote sports activities in Karachi, playgrounds, parks and sports complexes are being improved, he said that New talent will emerge from the national level sports competitions in Quetta who will get the honour of representing their city, province and country at the national and international levels and the world of sports and Pakistan flag will always fly high in the world over.
