Kashmir Black Day observed at Pakistan Embassy Ankara
Ankara, October 27, 2022 (PPI-OT): The 75th Kashmir Black Day was observed by the Embassy of Pakistan, Ankara, today. On 27th October 1947, India forcibly landed its troops in Srinagar and continues to forcibly and illegally occupy this territory ever since. The event was attended by representatives of civil society, media, think-tanks, and Kashmiris living in Ankara. Speaking on the occasion, Pakistan Embassy’s Deputy Head of Mission Abbas Sarwar Qureshi stated that in the tortured history of Kashmir since 1947, hardly a day has passed, when the occupying power India had not come up with fresh mischief and malice towards the people of Kashmir.
The occupying power India has been trying to silence the Kashmiri struggle for freedom and peace through armed aggression, but the history is replete with the instances telling that with no possible device and design can destroy the will and determination of the people. After 75 years of oppression, the Kashmiri struggle is alive, stronger and Kashmiris are determined to get their legitimate right to self-determination, the right promised to Kashmiris by UN, Pakistan and India.
Deputy Head of Mission highlighted that Pakistan shall continue its political, moral and diplomatic support to Kashmiris and reaffirmed resolve to stand shoulder to shoulder with Kashmiri brethren in their legitimate cause of freedom. He thanked the people and government of Turkiye for its principled stance on Kashmir and highlighted that Turkish support and solidarity with Kashmir is a source of great strength for millions of oppressed people of Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and an important contribution towards realization of their right to self-determination.
Messages of the President, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan were read out. Expressing solidarity with the oppressed Kashmiris, the leadership reiterated immediate reversal of the Indian government’s illegal and unilateral actions of 05 August 2019 and called upon the international community to take practical steps to hold India accountable for its egregious human rights violations in IIOJK and play its part in facilitating a peaceful and just resolution of the long standing dispute of Jammu and Kashmir in accordance with the relevant Security Council Resolutions and the wishes of the Kashmiri people.
