Islamabad, September 26, 2023 (PPI-OT): Islamabad Capital Police apprehended 29 outlaws from different areas of the city during the last 24 hours and recovered drugs and weapons with ammunition from their possession, a public relations officer said.
He said that, following the special directions of Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO) Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, the Islamabad Capital Police has intensified crackdown against the criminal elements in order to eliminate the crime from the city.
Following these directives, the Secretariat police team arrested an accused namely Azam involved in illegally selling petrol. The Kohsar police team arrested two accused namely Asif Masih and Nofan Masih and recovered 1,360-gram heroin and one 30 bore pistol with ammunition from their possession. The Sumbal police team arrested two drug peddlers namely Ahmed Hassan and Ghulam Abbas and recovered 1,860-gram hashish from their possession.
Likewise, the Industrial Area police team arrested an accused namely Shamon Masih and recovered 420-gram heroin from his possession. The Sabzi Mandi police team arrested an accused namely Tahir Khan and recovered one 30 bore pistol from his possession. The Khanna police team arrested an accused namely Najeeb Ullah and recovered 320-gram heroin from his possession. The Humak police team arrested two accused namely Rashid Mehmood and Tanveer Hussain and recovered 3,157-gram heroin from their possession.
Similarly, the Lohi Bher police team arrested an accused namely Sohail Umar and recovered 117-gram heroin from his possession, while police team also arrested the accused namely Rameez Mehmood involved in illegally refilling gas cylinders.
Moreover, the Phulgran police team arrested an accused namely Rashid Mehmood and recovered one iron punch from his possession. The Nilore police team arrested an accused namely Jawad Ali and recovered one 30 bore pistol from his possession. The Ban Gala police team arrested an accused Namely Fayyaz Mehmood and recovered 20 liters of alcohol from his possession.
During the special campaign against professional baggers and their handlers the police team arrested 13 professional baggers.
Cases have been registered against the nabbed accused and further investigation is underway.
ICCPO Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan directed the police officials to further intensify the crackdown against the criminal elements. “Safety and security of the citizens is our foremost priority and no laxity will be tolerated in this regard”, he maintained.
