27 Arrested in Islamabad Police Operation, Weapons and Drugs Seized


Islamabad: In a coordinated operation across several districts, Islamabad police arrested 27 individuals and seized a cache of weapons and drugs, authorities announced. The arrests were made as part of a targeted effort to curb criminal activities and apprehend absconders in the federal capital.



According to Islamabad Capital Police, teams from Margalla, Sumbal, Sabzi Mandi, Khana, and Bhara Kahu police stations were involved in the operation, which resulted in the apprehension of 10 suspects linked to various criminal offenses. The police recovered 435 grams of Ice, six pistols, and two Kalashnikov rifles with ammunition during the operation. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the suspects, and investigations are ongoing.



In addition to these arrests, police teams captured 17 proclaimed offenders and absconders as part of a special campaign. The crackdown follows directives from IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, emphasizing the need for continued efforts to maintain peace and security in Islamabad.



SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza reaffirmed the police’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property, stating that no disturbance to public peace will be tolerated. The police have urged citizens to report suspicious activities through local stations or the emergency helpline “Pucar-15,” highlighting the importance of community cooperation in combating crime.
