Raipur, September 02, 2023 (PPI-OT): Two sisters were gang-raped by Hindutva goons in Raipur, the capital of the Indian state of Chhattisgarh. The two sisters were returning from celebrating Raksha Bandhan with their cousins when a group of eight to nine assailants including a local BJP leader’s son forcibly blocked their path and carried out the horrific assault near RIMS Medical College.
The man accompanying the two girls was also subjected to severe physical violence. The accused include the individuals with a history of criminal activities and one of them Poonam Thakur son of local BJP leader, Laxmi Narayan Singh, was recently released on bail.
