Islamabad, June 08, 2023 (PPI-OT): Islamabad capital police apprehended 19 outlaws from different areas of the city and recovered drugs and weapons with ammunition from their possession, a police public relations officer said. He said that, following the special directions of Islamabad Capital City Police officer (ICCPO) Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, the Islamabad capital police has intensified crackdown against the criminal elements in order to eliminate the crime from the city. Following these directives, the Aabpara police arrested two accused namely Asif and Albert and recovered 1505-gram heroin from their possession. The Secretariat police team arrested two accused namely Shafique Ali and Waqas Ullah and recovered 223 bore gun and one 30 bore pistol with ammunition from their possession.
Likewise, the Bhara Kahu police team arrested an accused namely Muhammad Baksh and recovered 685-gram heroin from his possession. The Tarnol police team arrested two accused namely Muzammil Khan and Nelum Bibi and recovered 2390-gram heroin from their possession. Likewise, the Industrial Area police team arrested an accused namely Umeed and recovered 550-gram hashish from his possession. The Shahzad Town police team arrested an accused namely Muhammad Waseem and recovered one 30 bore pistol from his possession.
Furthermore, the Nilore police team arrested an accused namely Raza Hussain and recovered one 30 bore pistol with ammunition from his possession. The Koral police team arrested four accused namely Mamoon Aman, Faizan and Shafique and recovered one MP5, one 30 bore pistol and 1280-gram hashish from their possession. The Humak police team arrested an accused namely Qadeer and recovered 520-gram hashish from his possession. During the ongoing crackdown against absconders and proclaimed offenders, the Islamabad capital police teams arrested three absconders from various areas of the city. Cases have been registered against the nabbed accused and further investigation is underway.
CPO/DIG Operations Islamabad Syed Shehzad Nadeem Bukhari directed all senior officials for effective crackdown against the accused involved in drug peddling and possessing illegal weapons and said that the safety of the lives and property of the citizens is our prime responsibility. The performance of police officials in this regard would be reviewed on a continuous basis, he maintained.
