15th August is a black day for the people of Jammu and Kashmir: Fakhar

Islamabad, August 15, 2021 (PPI-OT): Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Syed Fakhar Imam chaired a Seminar organized by Friends of Kashmir International to mark 15th August as a Black Day for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Federal Minister said that India has used rape torture and tyranny as a weapon of state to silence the freedom struggle of the Kashmiris.

He said that United Nations has on numerous occasions discussed the issue of Kashmir in the aftermath of the illegal and unilateral action of India on 5th August 2019, which proves that Kashmir is a disputed territory. Minister said that after the illegal action of India of 5th August 2019, it was for the first time that even the parliament of France took up the issue of human rights violations by India in Indian occupied Kashmir.

Fakhar said that numerous reports are available of UN Human Rights Council that elaborate on the human rights violations of the Modi government in Kashmir. The minister said that India’s narrow and myopic outlook has ostracized 8 million Kashmiris. He said that the world should immediately act to avoid any untoward incident since these two nuclear powers i.e. Pakistan and India are looking at each other eyeball to eyeball.

Fakhar said that the world has started to open its eyes to the human rights violations in Kashmir which have been highlighted by international media such as NY Times, Washington Post, and Wall street Journal etc. Fakhar said that the emerging strategic partnership between USA, Japan, Australia and India has allowed India to expand its hegemonic designs in the region. Fakhar said that India’s ethos has completely changed under the RSS ideology of the Modi government.

Minister said that Imran Khan has raised the plight of the Kashmiris on every forum and will continue to do so in the future. He said that the government of PTI will continue to expose India as an oppressor and aggressor denying the Kashmiris their right of self-determination in violation of the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council.
