Srinagar, July 09, 2022 (PPI-OT):At leat 15 yatris died and many went missing after the Amarnath cave came under a cloud burst that led to flash floods while some tents have been destroyed. The gushing waters hit the base camp outside the Amernath cave, damaging 25 tents and three kitchens where the Hindu yatris are served food, police officials said.

Indian army, paramilitary and NDRF personnel were already there while two more teams are being rushed, they added. As per a tweet by the police, “the rescue operation by Police, NDRF and SFs in progress. Injured are being airlifted for treatment.” The Kashmir Police chief said that the situation is under control.
