Islamabad, December 15, 2022 (PPI-OT):Islamabad capital police apprehended 16 criminals from different areas and recovered drugs and weapons with ammunition from their possession, a police public relations officer said. He said that, following the special directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, Islamabad capital police has intensified crackdown against the criminal elements in order to eliminate the crime from the city.
Following these directives, a Bhara Kahu police team arrested two accused namely Maqsood Khan and Mushtak involved in drug peddling and possessing illegal weapons and recovered one 30 bore pistol and 1130 gram heroin from their possession.
Similarly, the Shams Colony arrested two accused namely Muhammad Waseem and Yasir Mehmood and recovered two 30 bore pistols from their possession. Nilore police arrested three accused namely Khaista Khan, Abdul Haq and Ayaz Khan and recovered three 30 bore pistols from their possession.
Moreover, the Lohi Bher police arrested four accused namely Hasnain Mehboob, Muhammad Tahir Jamali, Imdad Hussain and Nasir Mehmood involved in drug paddling and recovered2477 gram heroin and 25 liters liquor from their possessions.
During the crackdown against proclaimed offenders police teams arrested three absconders from various areas of the city. Cases have been registered against the nabbed accused and further investigation is underway. IGP Islamabad directed all senior officials for effective crackdown against the accused involved in possessing illegal weapons. The performance of police officials in this regard would be reviewed on a continuous basis, he maintained.
