ISLAMABAD: Fourteen newborns lost their lives when a fire broke out on the third floor of the Mother and Child Health department at PIMS Hospital in Islamabad.
According to Radio Pakistan, rescue teams quickly arrived at the scene following reports of the fire. Six fire tenders and four ambulances were deployed in the rescue efforts, eventually bringing the blaze under control. In response to the incident, the Islamabad district administration has formed a fact-finding committee tasked with investigating the cause of the fire.
The committee, as stated in a notification from the District Magistrate, has been charged with determining the exact cause of the fire and identifying any factors that contributed to its rapid spread. The district administration has instructed the committee to submit its findings within twenty-four hours.
