Islamabad, September 20, 2023 (PPI-OT): Islamabad Capital Police Sabzi Mandi police station team has arrested 11 gamblers red handed and recovered cash and gambling tools from their possession, a public relation officer said.

He said that, following the special directions of Islamabad Capital City Police officer (ICCPO) Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, the Islamabad Capital Police has intensified crackdown against the criminal elements in order to eliminate the crime from the city and protect the lives and property of citizens.

Following these directions, a Sabzi Mandi police team conducted a raid at gambling den and arrested 11 gamblers red handed and recovered cash and gambling tools from their possession.

The accused were identified as Sayad, Arif, Shoaib Ahmed, Asad Khan, Zahid Ullah, Afzal Ahmed, Sajjad Ali, Dil Nawaz Ali, Tariq Mehmood, Soba Khan and Zulfiqar. Case has been registered against the nabbed accused and further investigation is underway.

ICCPO Dr Akbar Nasir Khan further directed the police officials and stated that it is the prime responsibility of police to provide relief to the citizens and every possible effort would be made to ensure it.
