Syed Waqar Mehdi Elected as Chairman of Senate Committee on Rules and Procedures


Islamabad: Senator Syed Waqar Mehdi was elected unopposed as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Rules of Procedure and Privileges during a meeting held at Parliament House. The election was the primary agenda of the session, which saw nominations proposed by Senator Dost Ali Jeesar and seconded by Senator Palwasha Mohammad Zai Khan.



Following the election, the committee members observed Fateha to honor the memory of the late Senator Taj Haider. The members expressed their confidence in Senator Mehdi’s capabilities to manage the committee’s affairs effectively.



Senator Mehdi, expressing gratitude for the support, emphasized the committee’s commitment to upholding the privileges of the senators. He noted the importance of following in the footsteps of the late Senator Haider, who was remembered for his contributions.



The meeting was attended by several senators, including Faisal Saleem Rahman, Saadia Abbasi, Palwasha Mohammad Zai Khan, Raja Nasir Abbas, Dost Ali Jeesar, and Asad Qasim, along with senior officials from the Senate of Pakistan.
