Tashkent: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif concluded a two-day official visit to Uzbekistan, marking a significant step forward in strengthening ties between the two nations. The visit, which took place from February 25 to 26, 2025, at the invitation of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, aimed to enhance cooperation in trade, connectivity, and cultural exchanges.
According to a statement by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the discussions between the leaders were centered on improving collaboration across several sectors. Both parties emphasized the importance of regional connectivity, particularly through the trans-Afghan railway and trade corridors, as a means to promote peace and prosperity.
On February 25, Prime Minister Sharif addressed the Pakistan-Uzbekistan Business Forum in Tashkent. The event brought together prominent business leaders from both countries to explore investment opportunities and potential joint ventures, highlighting the economic partnership that has grown over the years.
The visit concluded with the signing of multiple memoranda of understanding and agreements targeting shared interests. A Joint Statement was released, reiterating the commitment of both nations to furthering bilateral cooperation.
