Lahore: The National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC) announced the regularization of services for 19 athletes and the promotion of 25 others, acknowledging their contributions in representing the company and Pakistan across a variety of sports disciplines. The decision affects athletes from grades 7 to 16, who have excelled in sports such as hockey, cricket, and boxing, among others.
According to National Transmission and Despatch Company, the announcement was made during a meeting at the NTDC Headquarters, where Managing Director Muhammad Waseem Younas congratulated the athletes. He praised their achievements at both national and international levels and expressed the company’s commitment to providing further support, including coaching and facilities, to help enhance their future performances.
President of the NTDC Sports Association, Engr. Dr. Khawaja Riffat Hassan, also addressed the athletes, emphasizing the importance of hard work and intensive training for success in upcoming competitions like the National Games.
The regularized athletes include notable names such as Muhammad Yasir Sultan in javelin throw and Shoaib Khan in athletics. The list of those promoted features Muhammad Khalid and Hamra Latif in hockey, among others.
The ceremony was attended by key figures from the NTDC, including Patron-in-Chief NTDC Sports Association Engr. Qaiser Khan and General Manager Muhammad Mustafa, along with coaches and other officials, highlighting the company’s commitment to supporting and nurturing sports talent within its ranks.
