Muslim Student’s Death at Aligarh University Prompts Investigation


Aligarh: A Muslim student at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) was found dead in a campus hostel, leading to an investigation by university and local authorities.



According to a statement by Kashmir Media Service, the student, Mohammad Shakir from Lakhimpur Kheri, was discovered by laborers at the Mumtaz Hostel in Aftab Hall. Shakir was enrolled in a master’s program in theology at the university.



Officials reported that laborers, who were present for road maintenance work, found Shakir’s body hanging from a rope and notified the university administration immediately. The police, along with the AMU proctorial team, responded to the scene.



Wasim Ali, the university proctor, stated that an investigation is ongoing and that Shakir’s family has been notified of the incident. He assured that appropriate action would be taken following the completion of the investigation.
