Muzaffarabad: The President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry, has stressed the necessity of including the Kashmiri people as primary stakeholders in any forthcoming dialogue between Pakistan and India regarding the Kashmir dispute.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Barrister Sultan, during a press conference in Muzaffarabad, accused India of state terrorism in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He criticized India’s policies under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which he claimed are oppressive toward religious minorities. Barrister Sultan characterized India not as the world’s largest democracy, but as a Hindu dictatorship.
He further alleged that Modi’s administration adheres to Hindutva ideology and labeled it a global terrorist force. He referenced statements by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in the Canadian Parliament, which he claimed provided undeniable evidence of India’s involvement in terrorism, supporting the assertion of India as a global terrorist state.
Barrister Sultan noted that India’s alleged terrorist activities have faced condemnation worldwide. He expressed concern over what he described as India’s demographic engineering in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) since August 5, 2019. He argued that these actions aim to erase the Kashmir issue and fully annex the territory, but vowed that the Kashmiri people would resist such efforts.
The AJK President expressed optimism about the outcomes of his recent visits to the UK and the US, suggesting they would have lasting positive impacts. He reassured the people of IIOJK that the Kashmiri diaspora remains in solidarity with their struggle, emphasizing the vital role overseas Kashmiris play in raising awareness of the plight of oppressed Kashmiris internationally.
He concluded with a hopeful message, asserting that the liberation of IIOJK from what he described as India’s brutal and illegal occupation is not far off.
