Iran and Pakistan Discuss Economic Cooperation Amid Regional Tensions


Islamabad: The Federal Minister for Investment, Mr. Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, engaged in a meeting with the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mr. Reza Amiri Moghadam, to discuss ways to enhance bilateral trade and investment. The meeting, held in Islamabad, focused on the expansion of economic cooperation and regional stability.



Discussions centered on the establishment of a joint special economic zone, which both sides agreed would strengthen economic ties. The initiative aims to promote bilateral trade and investment, with both countries expressing a commitment to deepening their economic partnership.



During the meeting, the Iranian Ambassador underscored Iran’s efforts to mediate between Pakistan and India, highlighting Iran as the first country to take such steps. He expressed sorrow over the recent aggression by India and extended condolences for the loss of 26 lives.



Both leaders agreed on the significance of fostering regional peace and stability. They pledged to enhance cooperation to address regional challenges and improve mutual relations.



The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of commitment from both countries to maintain and enhance their collaboration in various sectors.
