AlUla, Saudi Arabia: The inaugural AlUla Conference for Emerging Market Economies commenced today in AlUla, Saudi Arabia, drawing finance ministers, central bank governors, policymakers, and economic experts from across the globe. Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, joins the two-day event, attending on the special invitation of Saudi Arabia’s Finance Minister, Mohammed Al-Jadaan.
According to a statement by Press Information Department, the conference is jointly organized by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Saudi Ministry of Finance. It aims to promote dialogue on building resilience and achieving sustainable economic growth amid ongoing global economic challenges. The event features nine sessions, bringing together 200 participants and 36 speakers, with delegates from 48 countries present.
Senator Aurangzeb will participate in a high-level panel discussion titled ‘Navigating the Path for Resilient Emerging Markets’. This session will be moderated by IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva and include finance ministers from Egypt, Brazil, and Türkiye.
The AlUla Conference is poised to become an annual forum for emerging markets and developing economies. Its goal is to influence global economic discussions, enhance policy coordination, and fortify international cooperation for sustainable economic stability.
