Cultural Clash: MP Criticizes Fashion Show at Gulmarg

Srinagar: National Conference senior leader and Member of Parliament from Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Agha Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, has voiced strong objections to a fashion show held at the Gulmarg ski resort during the holy month of Ramadan. He termed the event as a cultural invasion under the guise of tourism.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Ruhullah Mehdi has called for accountability from both officials and organizers involved in the event. “The images from Gulmarg are shocking. This is what cultural invasion in the disguise of tourism looks like. They show an utter disregard for Kashmiri sentiments,” read a statement from his office posted on the social media platform X.

The statement further urged that the Tourism department officials connected to the event should face immediate consequences, along with the organizers. This incident has sparked a debate about the balance between tourism and cultural sensitivity in the region.
